Indigenous Language Workshop
About
Reconnecting with our roots and honoring our culture is important for Indigenous people, and there is no better way to start this process than learning the language of our ancestors. Language is the lifeblood of a culture, and by teaching others and fostering a desire to learn, we keep our cultural traditions and way of life a living reality.

Indigenous Language Revival Workshops
GIIA wants to help “awaken your tongue,” so you too can learn the language of the Algonquin. Meeting monthly for four-week intervals, Algonquin language workshops are open to Indigenous community members free of charge, while allies of the community can participate with a hundred-dollar donation.
It is our hope to help preserve and teach other Indigenous languages in the future, to honor the legacy for all Native peoples so they too can be proud of where? or what they come from.
